PEACH HOLMES

A founder and co-director of the Sweet & Hot Music Festival, She was active in the promotion of Classic Jazz in Los Angeles for more than thirty years. Working with the festival since its inception in 1996, she was instrumental in the establishment of the Sweet & Hot Music Foundation "Walk Of Fame" at the poolside of the Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotel.

The "Walk" contains dozens of plaques honoring many of the 20th Century's greatest jazz musicians. It includes such icons as Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington to name a few.

Peach was also President of JiMi Lane Music Publishing, which owns and administers some 200 copyrights worldwide including "Rock the Boat,” a well-known pop standard written by her husband, Wally Holmes.

It was clear why she was given the nickname Peach as a child. She was beautiful, vivacious and had a very generous heart. All that knew her will miss her greatly for we will never be the same without her.

A donation to the Peach Circle fulfills the promise made to celebrate and honor the musical cornerstone set as the foundation for the Walk of Fame and in the production of the uniquely individual Sweet and Hot Music Festival. The donation is tax deductible and 100% is used to complete the circle she envisioned so many years ago to protect and preserve this beautiful American art.
