Volunteers Provide A Necessary
Finishing Touch To Make The Festival Bigger, Better, More Joyful! |

Like any recipe it takes all of the ingredients to create a masterpiece. Leave out any one component and the recipe is a dismal failure. The Sweet and Hot Festival has collected a prize-winning combination of ingredients guaranteed to meet the most meticulous gourmet’s (gourmand’s) requirements. The music, the musicians, the location, the venue and the time are all very necessary to make this delectable treat. However to make the combination work, we must have the volunteers. They provide the final catalyst to mold the event into the sweet confection that it can be. Volunteers are the cheerful, helpful voice on the phone, they are the welcoming smiles as they host the venues, they are the friendly faces behind the souvenir table and the winning assistants in the badge sales office. Volunteers bring their talent and expertise to the sound equipment and provide a watchful eye and ear to keep it properly balanced. They step in where help is needed, whether it is moving chairs up on the stage or off the stage, setting up microphones, helping badge-holders find seats or simply offering a cheerful greeting to our guests. Volunteers work many hours before the event to be certain that there is someone in the office to answer questions, they set up the volunteer and musician check-in area, they host the Musician’s hospitality suite. Volunteers are there to clean-up, set-up and do all the necessary work before the festival and they clean-up and knock down and pack for storage after the festival. It is the volunteer who keeps the instrument room secure, that helps the band sell their C-D’s, that keeps the bands on time for their sets, who announce the performers and cheer them on. Volunteers are the ambassadors of the festival. They are the face that the public sees. The importance of cheerful, friendly, volunteers who take their job seriously, who dress and behave in a professional manner and who represent the festival with a joyful attitude cannot be overrated. If you have a good time at this festival. If you enjoyed the music and the ambiance. Thank a Volunteer. A few of the many benefits of volunteering with Sweet & Hot:
